Cruze’s Story

Cruze was diagnosed with Moderate Global Development Delays at age three. Then at age four, he was diagnosed with autism level two.
We don’t have average days here. We have good days, we have bad days, then we have occasional normal days.
Hi, welcome to the BlueWing show, where we’re going to talk about relief, support, care, and family for our participants. It is our mission to show you there is help and support, and people that care about the individuals.
Hi, I’m Letisha, and this is my son, Cruze ….and Zayden. A good day is no tantrums, no hitting himself. A bad day is when he puts a hole in the wall because of something a little worse. I put a different perfume on and it didn’t smell like me.
We have to have routines. If the routine goes sour, or something unexpected happens, he gets very upset. He could be upset and just cry, or it could be he’ll hit himself and put holes in walls. It varies from day to day.
Yeah, before BlueWing, he was through the Aboriginal tutor school program, where we got some help with OT, but then, once he turned of school age, and his NDIS funding kicked in, then he had nothing for a while until I found BlueWing. Since starting there, he’s made such progress. He’s a totally different kid.
BlueWing is great. They understand his development needs. They understand that he’s not on a level where other kids his age are. Through OT, he’s come so far, like dressing himself, and wiping his bum when he goes to the toilet, sounds like little things, but to us, it’s big things.
Seeing Cruze tie his shoelaces. I was proud. Finally, It’s been a while in the making but he finally achieved it. From my experience, BlueWing has been fantastic.
